Onboarding Wizard: step-by-step guide
The Onboarding Wizard sets up teamSOS for your organisation in six steps before you go live. Each step below has a short explanation and a video. For the full guide with screenshots, download the Onboarding Wizard guide (pdf).
To open the Wizard, follow the link in your welcome email or log in to your teamSOS admin account.
Jump to:
- 1. Welcome and setting up IT
- 2. Adding users
- 3. Assigning roles
- 4. Response teams
- 5. Windows deployment and desktop alerts
- 6. Review
Start the Wizard and assign a member of your IT team to complete the technical setup.
For IT contact: Before you start, allow teamSOS through your firewall
teamSOS needs access to a small number of required and recommended endpoints (including HTTP/HTTPS and push notification services) to work reliably. These requirements apply to both teamSOS Lockdown and teamSOS Enterprise.
For the full list of required and recommended URLs and ports, see the Firewall and Filtering Setup guide (PDF).
2. Adding usersAdd your staff in one of three ways: Excel upload, manual entry, or Microsoft Entra sync. If you're using Entra sync, see SSO, Entra sync and Intune first.
The Manage Users guide (PDF) also covers each method.
3. Assigning rolesGive each user a role (User, Announcer or Administrator) and confirm their permissions. See Setting up your responders and roles for what each role can do.
4. Response teamsCreate the team or teams who will respond to incidents, and add the right members to each, so the right people are notified when an incident is raised.
5. Windows deployment and desktop alertsDeploy the Windows app and desktop alerts using GPO or Intune. Desktop alerts show critical notifications directly on users' screens. The Wizard generates the deployment files and setup commands for you. See SSO, Entra sync and Intune for Intune troubleshooting.
6. ReviewCheck that your users, roles and response teams are all correct before you go live.
