Can staff be on a rota or marked as available/unavailable?
Yes. Staff availability in teamSOS can be set individually. By default, teamSOS assumes all responders are on-call throughout the day unless rotas are defined.
Ad-hoc availability changes
-
Staff can temporarily mark themselves as unavailable, for example, if off sick or attending a meeting.
-
They can mute notifications for urgent matters, but note that while muted, they will not see incidents that are closed during this period.
-
The app will check the response team status and notify the user if marking themselves unavailable would leave a team without coverage.
-
Important: This check only works if rotas are configured.
-
To configure staff rotas:
-
In the Admin Dashboard, click User Management.
-
Click Responders Availability.
-
Use the arrow keys to scroll and select the response team.
-
Click Search.
-
Click Edit Rota on the relevant staff member.
Note: If a staff member is in multiple response teams, the rota configuration will apply across all their teams.
-
Click Create (top-right of the screen).
-
For schools on a 2-week rolling timetable, the system provides a reminder to ensure the date corresponds with the correct week.
-
To adjust:

-
Click Add, enter the new date, and save
-
Delete incorrect weeks by clicking Delete on the far right and confirming
