How do the Bluetooth buttons work?

Bluetooth Smart Buttons connect wirelessly to a nearby device running the teamSOS app, or to a Bluetooth hub for wider coverage. Each button has three configurable actions:

  • Single click – sends a confirmation test to organisation administrators, useful for checking the button is working and in range.
  • Double click – triggers an incident-specific SOS alert.
  • Press and hold – sends a personal "In Case of Emergency" (ICE) alert to an assigned contact.

Schools use them in various ways:

  • As panic buttons on front desks
  • For lone workers on the move
  • Assigned to individual staff members, locations (e.g. classroom, playground), or students with additional needs or medical requirements, so alerts can identify exactly who or where help is needed
